Sparked by an explosion of local interest the nations fastest growing sport, the Mission Viejo High School Roller Hockey program was founded in 2001. Since that time, popularity in the sport has continued to increase, leading to its acceptance, last year, by the Saddleback Valley Unified School District as an accredited high school sport.

The MVHS Hockey Program has been successfully directed by Coach Jim Irwin since 2004. Since that time, Mission Viejo High School leads the SVUSD League with 4 consecutive Championship Titles, for each of our Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. In 2007, the MVHS Varsity team won the California State Cup Championship.

Mission Viejo High Schools hockey season begins in September with tryouts. In October, practices and games begin with competition from over forty participating area high schools, in three counties, as part of the IHF (Interscholastic Hockey Federation) League. The IHF Season officially concludes around March, but thats really just when the fun begins! We have tryouts again to select the players that will represent MVHS in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District league (February-May) season at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. The remaining players continue post-IHF season play, which brings us all the way to June.

Most games are played at the 949 Roller Hockey Center in Irvine.
